Armoured Angels?:Why on high do angels sing?Hearts below to heavens bringSoldiers of G-d or armoured archangels goFighting Dragons or Dracula’s guidesMixing potions like Champagne or FrangelicoWhile saying women must be ‘clean’ to be bridesImages drawn on ceilings and wallsHomes outfitted from great mallsClashing times and value systemsMaidens hauling water in cisternsBorne on shoulders from the pastChurch flags should be at half-mastRaphael or BotticelliAm I really being silly?Bringing forth such images and iconsSaying evangelists are really just ConsWhile in angels I do believeHere on earth on every eveHeavens beyond our here and nowBeyond the moon and that cowIn the Logos we have the word or soundString Theory brings it to the groundWe can creatively manifestEven when we are at restAngels on the Sistine ceiling drawnAbove our earthly ego’s brawnSo why are our angels fighting wars?Our children dying by the scoresTruly now we all must turnEcclesiastes, times a changingNew Age old thought re-arrangingChildren Gothic Churches burnParents wonder what makes them yearnThe lies and wars the Church has wroughtIt really doesn’t take much good thoughtI say the parents and teachers or other sortsShould organize and change laws and courtsAsk not if the children learnThey’ve learned so well the angel’s swordsFrom your actions…. Not your words!
